This pause is just long enough to break the automatic habit loop, giving you the power to either proceed with intention or close the app and get back to your life. It turns a subconscious action into a conscious choice.
I built “App Pause” to solve my own problem. I'd find myself instinctively tapping on social media or news apps, only to snap out of it an hour later, wondering where the time went. I realised the issue wasn't necessarily using the apps themselves, but the mindless, automatic habit of opening them without a second thought. I didn't want a harsh blocker that locked me out completely; I just needed a small nudge.
