BrickThink is a free, open-source platform for running LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® (LSP) facilitation workshops remotely. It brings the five-stage LSP methodology online, letting distributed teams build 2D tile-based brick models in response to facilitator scenarios, organise them on a shared canvas, and progress through the canonical stages together in real time.
LSP is a method in which participants answer a challenge by building metaphorical models, then narrate their meaning to reach group consensus. It has historically required everyone in the same room with a box of bricks. BrickThink removes that constraint without replacing the video call — it pairs with Zoom, Meet, or Teams and handles the bricks, facilitation flow, and outputs.
The platform reproduces all five stages as first-class structure: skill building, individual model, shared model, system model, and guiding principles. Facilitators drive each stage through a live state machine — start, pause, extend, advance, reset, rollback — broadcast to every participant with a synchronised countdown timer.
Core capabilities:

A Konva-powered 2D canvas with a custom 58-tile brick set across seven categories, with drag-and-drop placement, scaling, rotation, and layer groups.
Real-time multi-participant editing on breakout-room canvases via Yjs CRDT, with live cursors, presence, per-client undo/redo, and per-brick reactions and threaded comments.
Breakout rooms that auto-compose each member's individual model into labelled lanes for the shared and system stages.
A library of 20 canonical scenario templates with per-stage assignment and facilitator overrides.
AI-generated session report PDFs, produced through the facilitator's own Anthropic API key so cost and data stay on their account.
PNG and JSON export, revocable public share links, a designs library with tags and trash recovery, and organisation and roster management.

BrickThink is free forever with no paid tier. Billing infrastructure was removed from the codebase in May 2026. The LSP method is used under CC BY-SA 3.0; BrickThink ships its own original brick assets and uses no LEGO trademark assets. It targets WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility, runs on EU infrastructure with GDPR-aligned data handling and true hard-deletion within 30 days, and is built on Next.js 15, React 19, Supabase, Konva, and Yjs, deployed on Railway.
