Nutrition Label Generator & Recipe Analyzer
Free FDA, EU & AU/NZ nutrition labels from any recipe,
Nutrition Label Generator turns a plain ingredient list into a print-ready Nutrition Facts label. Type ingredients with quantities (e.g. "2 cups flour, 100g butter, 3 large eggs"), match them against ~13,500 foods from USDA FoodData Central, set servings and serving size, and generate the label.
What it does
- Three regulatory standards: US FDA 2020 (21 CFR 101.9), EU/UK (Regulation
1169/2011, per-100 g columns), and AU/NZ (FSANZ Standard 1.2.8, energy in kJ)
- Four layouts: vertical, horizontal, linear, tabular
- Rounding rules applied per 21 CFR 101.9 (calories, fats, sodium,
cholesterol, carbs, fiber, protein) and %DV from the 2020 reference values
- Export as PNG, SVG, or PDF; print label-only, analysis-only, or both
- Recipe analysis: macro donut chart, %Daily Value bars for 12 nutrients,
per-ingredient breakdown, and common allergen detection
- Save recipes locally
- Available in 7 languages (EN, ES, DE, FR, EL, NL, IT)
Who it's for
Home bakers, cottage-food sellers, meal-prep businesses, recipe bloggers,
dietetics students, and small food brands who need a label mockup or a
quick nutrition estimate without a paid subscription.
Why I built it
Most label generators are paywalled, US-only, or upload your recipe to a
server. This one runs entirely in the browser — the food database is bundled,
so nothing leaves your device — and covers the three major label standards
with one renderer feeding screen, export, and print so they never disagree.
Values are calculated estimates from the USDA database (±10–20% typical);
commercial labeling still requires laboratory analysis.
