Instant Indexing

Get the IndexNow Submitter Chrome Extension

Set a site up once, then push new and changed URLs to Bing, Yandex, Naver, Seznam and Yep from your toolbar, a keyboard shortcut, or the right-click menu.

Whole Sitemaps, Not 25 URLs
Point it at a sitemap and it pulls every URL out. Nested sitemap indexes, gzipped and plain-text sitemaps all work.
Only Sends What Changed
It remembers what it has already submitted per site and tags each URL as New, Changed or Already sent, then preselects just the first two.
Key Setup That Names the Fault
Generate or paste a key, download the key file, and it verifies the file is live - wrong contents, wrong host, a redirect or a 404, instead of a bare 403.
Direct From Your Browser
Submissions go straight to the search engines with no relay in the middle. Your key never leaves the browser and nothing is sent to LaunchIgniter.

What is IndexNow?

IndexNow is an open-source protocol that lets website owners notify search engines about content changes in real time. Instead of waiting days for crawlers to discover updates, IndexNow sends instant notifications to Bing, Yandex, Naver, and other participating engines. According to IndexNow.org, pages submitted through the protocol typically appear in search results within hours rather than the typical 3-5 day crawl cycle.

How Do I Set Up an IndexNow API Key?

  1. Generate a key: Create a unique key (8-128 characters, alphanumeric with dashes). You can use a UUID generator or create your own.
  2. Create a key file: Create a text file named exactly as your key (e.g., 659f4c2f3cd74b7dad07b2792c109725.txt)
  3. Add your key to the file: The file content should only contain your key
  4. Upload to your website root: Place the file at your domain root (e.g., https://launchigniter.com/659f4c2f3cd74b7dad07b2792c109725.txt)
  5. Verify: Ensure the file is accessible via URL before submitting - see example

Quick Key Generation

You can use UUID Generator to create a valid key. Remove the dashes if you prefer a cleaner format (e.g., 659f4c2f3cd74b7dad07b2792c109725).

Which Search Engines Support IndexNow?

  • Bing (Microsoft) - Powers Bing search, Microsoft Copilot, and ChatGPT web search
  • IndexNow API - Central hub that shares with all participating search engines
  • Yandex - Major search engine in Russia and Eastern Europe
  • Naver - South Korea's largest search engine
  • Seznam - Czech Republic's leading search engine
  • Yep - Privacy-focused search engine by Ahrefs

Why Should I Use IndexNow?

Faster Indexing

Pages appear in search results within hours, not the typical 3-5 day crawl cycle. Notify search engines the moment you publish.

AI Tool Visibility

Bing powers ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot search. Indexed content can surface in AI-generated answers across these platforms.

Reduced Crawl Load

Search engines fetch only the URLs you specify. No wasted bandwidth on unchanged pages or unnecessary crawler requests.

Lower Server Costs

Fewer crawler visits means less server load. Sites using IndexNow report up to 90% reduction in search engine crawl traffic.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does IndexNow take to index a page?

IndexNow typically indexes submitted pages within hours. Most search engines process submissions in under 24 hours, compared to the 3-5 days traditional crawling can take. The exact timing depends on the search engine and your site's authority.

Is IndexNow free to use?

Yes, IndexNow is completely free. The protocol is open-source and supported by Microsoft, Yandex, and other search engines at no cost. The IndexNow Submitter Chrome extension is free too, with no account required.

Does Google support IndexNow?

Google has not adopted IndexNow as of 2025. Google uses its own indexing systems and URL Inspection API. However, IndexNow covers Bing (which powers ChatGPT search), Yandex, Naver, Seznam, and other engines.

What is the difference between IndexNow and Google Search Console URL submission?

Google Search Console only submits to Google and has daily limits. IndexNow submits to multiple search engines simultaneously (Bing, Yandex, Naver, Seznam) with a single request. For full coverage, use both methods.

Can I submit multiple URLs at once with IndexNow?

Yes. IndexNow supports batch submissions of up to 10,000 URLs per request. The IndexNow Submitter extension fetches your sitemap and submits URLs in batches automatically, so you can index your entire site in one session.

Is there an IndexNow Chrome extension?

Yes. IndexNow Submitter is a free Chrome extension from LaunchIgniter. It saves your key and sitemap URL per domain, so after a one-time setup you can submit the page you are on with Alt+Shift+I, submit any page or link from the right-click menu, or push a whole sitemap from its dashboard.

What does the extension do that submitting URLs by hand does not?

The extension remembers which URLs it has already submitted for each site and compares the sitemap's lastmod dates, so it preselects only the new and changed pages instead of resubmitting everything. It also keeps a full submission history you can export as CSV, stores a key per domain, and submits directly from your browser to the search engines.

Is the IndexNow Submitter extension safe to use with my API key?

Your key is stored locally in the browser with chrome.storage.local and is sent only to the six IndexNow endpoints. The extension makes no requests to LaunchIgniter, has no account or sign-up, and collects no analytics. Removing a site deletes its key and its submitted-URL record.
